Imagine a Parliament-Funkadelic show mixed with Afrobeat rhythms, Latin and reggae influences, scorching horn sections, MCs from Trinidad and a lead vocalist/guitarist named Pleasuremaker whose soul is so large, the stage can barely contain him, and who has a  knack for writing catchy, infectious and funky hooks  that sound like the Black Keys mashed with Fela Kuti. Afrolicious is all that and then some, a live band that is driven to make people dance like a dj set, a multi-cultural band that is truly San Franciscan in it’s musical diversety . Afrolicious’ infectious mix of original music and live remixes mixed with tropical and electronic beats and live percussionists has reached a legendary status in San Francisco thanks to the weekly party of the same name that has fostered a community of dancers, musicians and djs for the past four years. Along the way Afrolicious has peformed at estemeed music festivals like Lightning in a Bottle, SXSW, Sea of Dreams, SF Carnaval, Burning Man, and has also remixed other artists for labels such as Six Degrees Records, Bagpak, ESL Music and Akwaaba Records. Currently Afrolicious has two digital EPs that are coming out on ESL Music and produced by Thievery Corporations’ own Rob Garza.
